I have asked a boy to a snowdaze dance and my dress is black and hot pink. He is wearing black pants and a black shirt. I would like him to wear a pink tie. Is this wrong?

Finding a tie to match your dress may be tricky. Having a touch of coordination between your outfits is a neat way of saying 'we're together'. If you give him the tie as a present, it would be even better.

My grandmother once helped me sew a special dress for myself. There was enough material left over that she made a tie for my boyfriend. Believe it or not, he loved wearing the tie when I wore that dress. A few times he even asked me to wear the dress, just so he had a reason to wear the tie.

I wouldn't have a problem with. But some macho types may object. It's not what a person wears that make the individual. If he really likes you and wants all at the dance to know his date then he should wear it.

Definately not. You want to look cute together. You could go shopping with him to help him pick out the right color pink, or you could show him, or his mom, your dress so they can pick out the perfect tie. I hope this helps! have fun!

You shouldn't tell your date what to wear. It is his choice, not yours. Remember this as you get older. You wouldn't want him to tell you what to wear the next time he asks you out, right? Something like, "I think you should wear that low cut top, and some high heels." Works the same for him.

Yeah, I think so. Especially since youre going together, and youll look so cute because you match. But when you ask, make it almost sound like a joke, so if he doesn't want to, he'll think its just a joke nd you can play it off as one.
