Should he had been fined at all? He's a rookie,no one really knows who he is,he's not known as a troublemaker, something like that probably isn't in the so-called rules of etiquette book the NBA provides to players.Your thoughts on this.

Yes he did. Another example of "politically correctness" being bull shite. The guy says what's on his mind? He's truthful? It's probably because the sponsers with their $$$ MAY be offended.

I haven't watched that crap for years. They out to outlaw the dunk and get back to paying what Naismith invented! It's a game, NOT A FREAKIN SIDE SHOW.

They should have fined him and dropped him from the event as well, yes he is a rookie but anyone should know better than to say that and who wants to watch a guy thats just there to get paid?

The dunk contest is there for players to put on a show and entertain fans, some of the NBA's greatest moments have come during the it (MJ dunking from the free throw line anyone?). The dunk contest should be a fun place for a player to market his athleticism and wow some fans, not somewhere to "collect a paycheck" like this clown said.

Edit - Where did you hear that about donating it to his high school? The Chicago Tribune mentioned nothing about it from what I saw. This probably came after the fact, but if not then good for him and I take it back about him being a clown.

Ironically, nobody has reported on the fact that Thomas intended on donating the money he made from the Slam Dunk Contest to his high school....
