In USA Deception is overwhelming & the truth is rare, is everywhere else like this?

In China, Cuba, Venezuela, Iran and numerous other countries, you will be imprisoned for speaking the truth. In other countries, you can be tortured or murdered, or simply disappear for speaking truth. In Europe, certain truths are criminalized - e.g. you cannot criticize Islam without facing arrest.

In America, there will be some number of people who will dislike you for speaking the truth, but there will be others who support you. And you don't have to worry about being imprisoned or arrested for it. Yet.

However, the PC police can make your life miserable and cause you to lose your job. Like the Harvard president who had the audacity to pose the question whether there were inherent differences in men and women that caused more men than women to gravitate to the hard sciences.

I find it hilarious that the first two answers don't answer you question they are either an attack or an insult at a group of people.

Lucas V, you need to study history. Most Governments around the world are just as entrenched as ours and quite frequently the attacks are more than verbal. How many times have you seen in the news a fistfight erupting on the floor of the US House or Senate. Countries that have several parties in power have an even tougher road to how when it comes to passing legislation and that sometimes make for political fireworks, not cooperation.

Look at quotes about politics from 100 years ago. If you didn't know the source they would be as relevant today as they were then.

No. A lot of countries aren't economically advanced as America, therefore their government isn't as "entrenched" as ours is. Our government runs on such a large global scale that if we knew everything that was going on we'd be appalled, well at least half the country would be.

If politicians are truthful about their feelings then they aren't politicians. A politician usually goes by public opinion. However in some cases they can't change their stance, as we saw in the case of John Kerry, he'd be called a flip flopper. Then the opposition would only feed off that even more and his/her career would be over.

Outside America, I'm sure they are more honest in a lot of countries, but then again its not lying if they don't know what questions to ask.
