You can dance to any kind of music you want. I dance to country music all the time. Spanish music - people dance to it. Heavy metal - well, I'm sure people dance to it. Alternative - people dance to it. Techno - people dance to it. Oldies? People dance.

Your friend just might not like country music, or something. Country music even has slow songs - who can't dance to slow songs? Country music is my favorite - and sometimes, I just imagine how I could dance to certain songs. Sounds silly, but I do.

I don't know about making up dances, but the two step is an awesome country dance. The waltz also works well for country songs.

Even so, country music just isnt the kinda music that you dance to, try some hip-hop, R&B, etc. Something with some Southside flavor in it is the best.

Sure you can! As long as something makes you feel like dancing than you can dance to it! Doesn't mean it has to be graceful, just move around!

Ever heard of the Cotton-eyed Joe, or the Texas two step? What do you think they do at Gilly's? If it's music, you can dance to it.

There are many country waltzes good for slow dancing, and 'new' country is quite rock-ish, so yes, you really can. I defy you not to start bopping to honky-tonk badonkadonk.
