Do you mean "proportional dividers"? I know of circular scale calculators that are referred to as "proportional scales", but it sounds to me like you might be referring to the dividers. Sorry if I'm wrong, but I don't know about protractors being used to transfer scale.

Go to WH Smith and buy a mathematical set - in the tin will be a protractor.
