Yes, you can get paid for taking surveys (not hudrends of dollars--usually $0.50-$5 per survey, occassionally more). You can do this for FREE through many many companies--that place that wants to charge you $34.99 will probably only send you to those companies that you could sign up for free at if you went straight there.

I've listed most of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid (or received other rewards like gift cards or CD'S) on the following webpage:

http://www.windhavenweb.com/surveys

I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc. (And yes, if I say they have an affiliate program, I'm part of it, and make a commission when someone signs up through that link...I like to be up front about that).

As you're searching, here are some tips to avoid scams. As I was saying earlier, don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.

Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not aggregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).

Also, never sign up for a survey through an unsolicited e-mail--since these might not even be from the site they claim to be, but could be a phishing scheme to get your information and mis-use it.

When I was in college, I did surveys quite a bit. I never paid into any of them, though. Usually the rule for things like that is that you should never have to pay to get into it. Unfortunately I forget the company's name I did surveys for, but I used to get a $5 bill in the mail every once in awhile from them. I also got some free products if I agreed to try them out and then complete a survey about what I used. So, it IS possible to get paid (either with money or products). I'm sure there are lots of gimmicks out there, though, so investigate carefully before agreeing to do anything. Good luck!

I joined survey scout and I do surveys everyday. I had to make a one time payment. All survey companies are free. It's the data bases that you have to pay for.Survey scout provides over 300 companies in thier data base. surveys are something you have to work at. You will not make thousands of dollars over night but I have gotten paid for my opinions. Here is a link if you are interested in learning more.

DON'T pay anything. There are free sites, but it takes like 6 months to make $4.

NEVER EVER EVER Pay any money to someone regarding any type of employment, on-line or otherwise.
IT is a SCAM.
If this company were legitimate they would not be asking you for money up front. What a crock of crap.
Please don't do it.
