i have spent so much money trying to get my computers fixed...i really think you should take it to a good honest person to fix...i have paid money after money to computer geeks...and i am now renting to own a computer for 90 dollars a month...but i do now have someone hopefully reputable i believe working on my computer now..i know this does not help you fix yours but i do not want you to fall into the same mess that i have got into...i paid enough money to computer geeks to have a brand new computer......but i did not have all the money at one time...be careful who you trust...

Maybe you need to either reinstall the drivers for the keyboard as a usb or update those drivers. Try doing that.

Download the XP setup floppy creating program. Then you can create the 6 XP boot floppies. This will boot and you can get to the CD then, and presumably it will load those drivers as its going through one of those 6 floppies.

Have you checked that BIOS has USB keyboard enabled or USB is controlled by BIOS, not OS? It could help.

there is a setting in the CMOS of the COmputer (pre-boot) where we can select between different types of keyboards. you can choose between a USB keyboard and a PS2. please check if you can work up on that keyboard setting. choose what ever keyboard you have.
teh settings may have chenged because you might have reset the CMOS settings to default.
