What does the vanilla mean?, I bought an Asus p5b, not deluxe and i want to know if this is the same thing. Tom's hardware doesn't recommend ocing the vanilla. Is mine okay??

I have overclocked with that board and it will do just fine. The only thing it is really lacking in is the ability to raise RAM voltage above 2.1V, so make sure you don't get RAM that needs more than that. The processor overclocking will be fine as all the necesarry settings are there. If you do need over 2.1V on the RAM, you need at least the P5B-E Plus, the regular P5B-E is also limited to 2.1V.

The vanilla P5B's bios has several options missing.
These options make allow for better overclocking, like increase in voltages etc.

I only recommend the P5B-E and above for overclocking.
