since moving from bc,all my new friends in alberta seem to think i should be cheering for either the oilers or the flames and not the canucks whom i love. i think i should cheer for whomever i want and of course that is the canucks. do they have a right to say anything at all?

Agreed, heart has to be there. I've been a die hard Flames fan living in Oiler country my whole life. You take some abuse but you can give it back as well and the Canucks are doing you proud right now. But if you must, us Flames fans welcome you with open arms. Just don't cheer for the Oilers.

If you wish to remain a fan of the Canucks, then do so. Don't cheer for a team just because someone else does. It is your choice ALONE!

You should stick with your heart....If you are a Canucks fan stay with it....besides, this year the you would have more to cheer abou than the Alberta fans anyway

I'm from Wisconsin, so I really don't have a nhl team to cheer for, but I still cheer for Colorado and Boston (because they win a lot), You cheer for whoever you want to, because you like the team, not because of your geographical position.

It is absolutely your right to root for whomever you want to! But it's also their right to try to get you to change loyalties. That's just the way of sports! It's what creates sports conversations.

Cheer your team. Don't worry about where you live, they will be your team as long as you want them to be.
