Well First Of All Find Ur Song The Song U Know The Lyrics To ummm Practice The Song At least 5 times A Day And Last Before Singing Gargle To Clear Out Anything In Ur Vocal Cords And This Is Coming From A 13 year Old Kid Who Won 12 First Prize Singing Competitions

Originality. For example, Jennifer Hudson's rendition of the old song, You're Gonna Love Me. She doesn't sing it like a carbon copy of the original recording. That's what made it noticable. Also you should have others critique your singing, and not just family and friends either. Most of those people auditioning for idol are tone deaf. They really think they are doing great, but they are SO off pitch. Proper diction and enunciation are key too. If no one can understand the words you are saying, they will be bored listening. And finally, practice, practice, practice!!!

You want to be sure of the style of the song and be sure to show that when you sing it. You also want to sound like it was easy for you to sing. You need to show through your singing that the sound is coming from your heart and not your throat. Center your sound somewhere near the middle of your forehead so that you feel the sound vibrating there. Be confident and pretty! Good luck! Don't forget to show facial expression as it applies to your song. Stay calm and win!

good tone and pitch...also a song that is aimed at the broad audience..........and whilst put your own flair on the song dont do it so much that everyone else has NO clue as to what you are meant to be singing.
