seprate your files, papers, note books, text books, into different pile or folders or shelves, then make a timetable(schedule) about what you will do at what time and STICK to it.
you can add things like, what time to watch TV , use computer and for how long, rest for how long, revise for how long and revise what subject.

before starting to make a schedule, ask yourself whether you will really stick ot it or not, will you able to handle everything according to plan(remember there's always a twist in the fate)?
make sure you're wide awake and your thoughts clear. Dont; make a schedule if you're thinking or worrying about other stuffs like relationships or your problems. Deal wiht them when you make time for it.
If you stop or give up while making a time table, do it again.
the more you break off, the more you're likely to stay unorganized. ( if you fall in the first try, try again until you get it right)
hope that helps

Self discipline is the best tool.

Watch some of the "organize my home" shows on TLC or HGTV.

There are also books in the library full of helpful hints.
