Reposted question..I think this is a better category. Anyway..

I know a couple first time pregnant couples who are expecting a girl. They are disapointed, because they wanted a boy as the first born. Of course they are only wishing for HEALTH, and will love the baby girl like no other. But I am wondering when will people get over the "I want a big brother to protect his little sister" cliche? In Asian communities it is WAY worse.

What is so wrong with being or having a girl?? Can someone explain it to me...

Because boys are tougher than girls and not as costly as girls. Girls whine 24/7 and always ask their parents for the latest clothing or other stuff like makeup and complain if they don't get something. Boys don't whine 24/7 and are less costly than girls.

I think Ive noticed that it is men who want boys first and women want girls. They wanna have that girl to dress up and pamper. And men want the boy to play ball with and teach him how to be a man.
I never found out what sex any of my 3 boys were before they were born. Didnt matter to me. As it should be.

Well firstly most coupels want both they just want the boy to be the oldest, so you are percieving this from the wrong point of view. Nobody despises having a girl. I suppose it would be nicer for the girl too to have a big brother instead of beeing the big sister, after all women want taller richer stronger more intelligent more risktaking men than they are themselfs.

unfortunately, some people are still suffering from the impression that girls are weaker then boys.
Isn't that so sexist?
