i don't thnk they are crazy but it is just part of their culture to feel the need to argue or "up one up" on someone else. I have found the Romanians(hungarians) to be very good, hospitable people but very proud and boastful. My husband is from Hungary very close to Romania and he said that they always have to out do their nieghbors- very competitive - proud- stubborn- and can be cheats-greedy-- but they are also, very hospitable, generous to own family members, very consiencious at what they do and very intelligent.
Remember, there is Romania and Hungary next to each other, Romania took over part of Hungary so there are regions of Romania where whole villages of Hungarians live. kinda complicated.

This is the second leading question that you asked about Romanians implying something bad. Do you live near a large immigrant community somewhere? I only know two Romanians, and they seem as normal as anyone else.
