on it, ?? ..2 on the primary got a old foot peg thru the inspection plate can that b removed or does hold the inner cover on, one more ??? i know this sounds stupid when filling the primary up w/oil is it poured in where the inspection plate is? thanks for any help,, i normally have this done but going to try and save some $ and do this myself, Thnaks again for any help!!!!

Mine's an '06 FXD that I'm still learning, but I'll give it a shot.
My drain plugs need sealant, so yours should too.
Peg through inspection plate? Sounds like shift lever shaft. Yes, it can be removed if you are changing to forward controls. The inspection plate gets replaced with one that doesn't have a hole, and there is a hole in the back of the primary that will have to be plugged too. Primary oil is filled through the clutch cover on the primary. You may want a new gasket. Get the manuals, they will help a great deal. And it will still be less than a dealer service.

I don't have an HD, but I have other bikes and I usually buy a service manual for any maintenance I have to do. An HD manual will set you back about $45 but is well worth it.
