I just want to know because Jeff is 37 and when he was given starting jobs he has sucked except for the time when he had TO. I know he did well in Philly, but them going on a winning streak was because of Defense not QB play.

Garcia is a system QB. You are right that he is old and hasn't done well in places like Cleveland and Detroit. He will do well in a west coast style offense. The best place for him is probably where he is now.
It is a thin free agent class at QB too. That proably drives up his perceived value.

Well this is mainly due to the NFL being a "what have you done for me lately" league. He had a few good games this past year that will probably get him a great contract next year. (Great for a 37 year old QB - probably 2 year deal)

And I don't want to take anything away from him. He did a GREAT job filling in this past year. You never know he might have a good year or 2 left in him. I don't see it but you never know. I agree with a previous poster that he probably isn't going to lose any games for you. On the other hand he probably isn't going to take very many games on his shoulders and win them for you either.

I'm not a Bears fan but I think he would be a good insurance policy for Grossman next year. I think they would have been much better with a QB that wouldn't lose the game for them. On the other hand Rex is young and has several years ahead of him and Garcia has 2 decent years left tops.

I think the smart move would be for a team to pick him up as a backup (i.e Chicago). However, he will end up getting an overpriced contract to start somewhere.

lol not QB play so you mean that a QB rating of 95.8 116 of 188 which is 61.7% 10 TDs and only 2 picks and ONLY 6 sacks (and that has alot to do with the QB not just the Oline) is nothing meaning less, what if he through 2 TDs and 10 picks you think they would have done what they did, yes there D did good but not the only reason a team wins this is not a one sided game, takes all positions and all sides, all ppl to work as one unit to win and the only reason that Jeff wasn't a starter the last few years is cuz look who he played for the lions have killed allot of ppls careers over the last few years, and i am really really hopping they don't puck Quinn in the draft cuz they are just going to kill his too, and the browns were the same way, and the eagles didn't have TO and Jeff seemed to do pretty good to me, yes you need a TEAM to make one person good, but if that one person isn't any good to start we will never be no matter how good the team is

You don't know to much about the Eagles. They did have a good defense but Garcia did a great job because they run the West Coast offense there just like San Fran did. He actually did an outstanding job there. I hate the Eagles but give Garcia some credit. He looked 100% better then McNabb ever did and under alot better control. It had nothing to do with T.O. at all. They would've went to the Superbowl because of him but their defense choked against New Orleans also.

Assuming you're taking the QB to be a fulltime starter, i'd bypass with Russell. If I basically had to have one on my roster, i'd take youthful, and rotate him in as a wildcat weapon. Russell has shown a minimum of a few glimmer of desire to grow to be a effective QB. besides the undeniable fact that his stats are not solid, they don't look to be dreadful both. In his first 3 hundred and sixty 5 days starting up, he had stats more beneficial advantageous than Eli Manning's rookie season on a a lot worse crew. the bright spot that is status out to me with Russell is that he has a low INT%. Vince youthful grow to be/is a turnover device. He not in any respect grow to be as solid as people suggested he grow to be - his occupation QB score is a sixty 8, and he throws interceptions at an alarming cost, which, blended including his fumbles makes him a downright legal duty. at the same time as youthful grow to be removed from the starting up position, the Titans were given more beneficial advantageous with Kerry Collins on the helm. Do you imagine Kerry Collins will be an improve over Russell? Being as Collins had eerily similar stats to Russell very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, and grow to be on a a lot, a lot more beneficial advantageous football crew, i don't think of so. If Russell had a touch more beneficial time in the pocket, and larger advantageous receivers, i imagine he will be a effective QB. i have not given up desire on him fairly yet. so some distance as youthful is going.... he's suffering to be a second string QB lately. i don't think of he will get well any time quickly. Bryan - Vince youthful can use his suggestions? Are you talking about an similar Vince youthful that i'm? the guy who has a sixty 8 occupation score and throws interceptions at a 4% cost?

True, but everyone counted the Eagles out of the play-offs all together. Plus you're forgeting to mention they stepped up the running game after McNabe went down. At this point the Eagles can't afford to lose Garcia since McNabe has become injury prone these past 2 seasons.

In the right situation Garcia can be a winner. He did it in Canada, with the 49ers and now Eagles. Cleveland and Detroit had a ton of issues not just him. He needs to be on a solid team that runs the West Coast offense and he can win and get them to the playoffs, otherwise he is backup at best.

For the same reason that Rex Grossman recieved so much praise when he was hot at the beginning of the season. And...as in Rex's case...this also shall pass and Garcia will show his true colors.

Because when McNabb went down, Garcia and the offense kept firing on all cylinders...
