Yes, you could use firefox. You could download microsoft office with word, powerpoint, and excel. It is impossible to get viruses on Apple's because of the way they are built. They are more advance computers. They also have much more features and look cooler than PC's. They are faster and more powerful. The only thing good about the PC is the cheap price.

Apple's strength is media. If you don't care about video, graphics and media then just get you a pc.
And yes you can use all of the above but again.. a pc is cheaper if you don't care about the really cool stuff that a Mac can do.

Well first of all , you can run Mac OS X, or Windows ... so the software won't mind, beside that ... the hardware of apple is great ... come on man .. apple is the one invented the PC mouse !

although i have found with power point... files i create on the mac and try to open on a pc -- effects and things either don't work or shift around.

because like they say an apple a day keeps the doctor away but it really doesn't but it is really good to eat an apple 4-5 times away because it helps you stay away from the doctor but it doesn't keep them away for good like people say
