Bananas on an empty stomach may cause indigestion. Some say that the brighter yellow and more fragrant a banana, the more severe the indigestion. I have heard this from multiple people but can provide no solid source for this information. Maybe you can try eating dull yellow bananas and not eating them on an empty stomach to test the theory! By the way, bananas make some people's mouths itch and bleed! They do this to my teenager and some of my friends.

A well known cause of indigestion: Bananas that are under-ripe. Surprisingly, bananas, a very good source of many nutrients, particularly potassium, are extremely indigestible when they look at their best. Bright yellow bananas can be a common cause of severe indigestion. As they ripen, the starch changes to sugars, which are much more digestible and they should never be eaten until the skins start to turn slightly speckled.

you said a banana? probably you just ate it too fast. lol. a banana can't simply cause indigestion.. the nutrients in it most especially the potassium doesn't have anything to do with indigestion.
OR--
probably you've condition your mind already that bananas will give you indigestion. that's why every time you eat one, you get indigested...

They are high in potassium....your body probably doesn't need potassium....also...is not bananas considered a high acidic food?....It is better to eat more alkaline foods...you should look up acidic foods and see if it is listed on it as being high.
