Ok, 1st you have to download Winzip. Winzip unzip the files. Once you download winzip, and you download the files for the Sims 2, winzip will automatically pop up. then with your Sims 2 disc still in the computer, u will go to extract, then the drive that the cd id in, then extract it to that file. Then when you load the game, it will be there with no trouble.

Good Luck!!!!

I usually get stuff from websites I trust - like modthesims.com (though there's a lot of stuff in beta there, so it's not always the most reliable place) or parsimonious (http://www.parsimonious.org). Then I extract it with winzip or winrar, and put it in the correct folder - which is the downloads folder.

One word of warning though - it can be dangerous to download things, can lead to game crashes, ect - make seperate folders in your download folder for specific types of downloads or specific websites you've downloaded from. It makes it easier to go back and take a file out if it's corrupted your game.

find where you downloaded the item/Sim/lot, etc. double click, and a little window should pop up asking you if you want to install it into the game. click OK, and next time you visit your game, you should see the item
