I have windows XP I burn with SONIC and if required I use shrink!

sometimes it really depends on the dvd player itself... is the dvd player supports or read dvdrw? another is the software you use to burn the dvds... i prefer Nero 7.. it works great and no problem with it so far...

It's a compatability issue. Your friends probably have an older DVD player. The older players use a different laser than the newer ones do. As a result, they are less likely to play burned DVDs. Same thing with your DVD player. What you have to do is find which brand works most consistently with your player and stick to that brand.

hey, the DVD is very sensitive. so the sonic sofware did not support u to burn your DVD. you just install the NERO software, it is user friendly and it will show you, in which format u wish to write. hey while burning, burn in lowest speed.......
