AMD Athlon64 X2 4200, or Intel Core 2 Dou E6300?

I want to be able to play some cool virtual world games like Second Life. Will this and other games be able to be played with Windows Vista?
I also want to be able to run multiple programs at the same time.

The E6300 has a 4% to 8% all around better performance than the X2 4200+.

Not all Core2Duo's are better performing than the AMD X2 series. It depends which ones you are comparing.

If you want an AMD that is better performing than the E6300 you will have to look at the 4600+ & higher models of AMD X2.

The core 2 processors are supposed to be the best out right now. The most important thing to be able to play games though is having a good video card and enough system RAM.
