Does anyone know how long the morningafter pill is effective for? I took the morning after pill about 5 days ago and have had unprotected sex again. I am wondering if i should (could) take another dose to prevent pregnancy.
I haven't gotten my period yet just minor spotting for the first two days after i took the pill.

If you took it 5 days ago, it won't be effective to prevent pregnancy anymore. Make sure you go get another dose of it.

You need to go take a pregnancy test and YES go get another pill. The morning after pill should be taking within the first 72 hrs after unprotected sex. I have taken it on 2 occasions, and I always go that very next morning to get the pill. I never wait. And 5 days sounds risky! I would go get another pill asap! Have you thought of getting on the Pill? If you do, ask your doctor about Ortho Novum 777. It is very good and it has the lowest estrogen level. Good luck!

If you have unprotected sex and you want to use the morning after pill, you should take it as soon as you possibly can, and the longest it works after you've had sex is 72 hours. If you are worried that you may have become pregnant, the easiest way to find out is to go to your doctor or get a home kit to check. However, even if you take the morning after pill, this can't protect you against STIs, so it's always safer to use a condom. Also the pill is dangerous and addictive so don't abuse it.

You need to stop abusing the pill. It was made so that you could prevent pregnancy in the case that you hadn't use protection. I'm guessing they meant once not keep having unprotected sex and using the pill. That's just stupidity. If your going to have sex and do not want to end up pregnant USE PROTECTION every time you have sex. That's just common sense. protection=no pregnancy and nothing is 100% anyways. stop using the pill and go to a Dr and get birth control.

95% gonner work if taken within 24 hours (so don’t wait and ask questions here and on a Sunday or say xmas day go to hospital) that’s 5% you going to get pregnant

25-48 hours (two days and nights)
Its only 85% efficets that’s 15 % chance you will get pregnant

After 2 days its only 58% effective (much like flipping a coin)

You may be able to get a IUD coil as well.

well if you worried about getting pregnant then maybe you should start birthcontrol or wear a condom instead of keep taking morning after pills and having sex again!

It should be taken after sex. So if you had sex after taking the pill, you might have to take it again. The pill however will change your menstrual cycle a little, most probably delay it.
