You havent done anything wrong. The only thing that went wrong was that some stupid atheist guy wanted to get 2 points by responding to your sincere question. You have to realise that there are many people in the world who aren't believers and that should not affect your faith in any way. When you truly believe, nothing will be able to shake your faith, and that is what i have learnt.

I haven't read your earlier question. It is unfortunate that instead of getting a decent reply to your question, which you asked with all sincerity, you got a rebuff. That was definitely wrong.
To your present question, I will say that Indians are one of the most religious people in the world. You will find India dotted with temples, mosques, churches, gurdwaras, viharas and even a few synagogues and fire temples. The majority of the population are Hindus and hence there are more Hindu temples than other religious houses. New temples spring up every now and then. The older ones flourish equally well. They are patronised by devotees through donations. Hindus are idol worshippers. They keep idols of their Gods and Goddesses at home too and worship them regularly and devoutly. There are special prayer rooms in Hindu homes. Thus Hindu devotion isn't restricted to visits to temples on occassions. Religion is practised at home with equal fervour. They donate alms, listen to the preachings of their Gurus and take part in any devotional meeting. Singing of devotional songs are an integral part of Indian culture. The other religious communities are equally religious too.
But following a religion and practising its teachings in one's life are two different things. You might find some people in India very religious in their worship yet not so pious in real life. This is not restricted to India. But still Indians are highly religious people.

We people of India have more faith in the god than any other people in the world the only reason is that we have no time to spend for the god as we have to work for the US. The next thing is that if U learn from the politician then it is utter wrong what U have heard as They will speak onething and they will worship the god and shout at the worshipers of the god.

I had been to India last November and I found them very religious. They do believe in God but they worship differently from many of us because most of them are not Christians. Hindu's believe in many gods in fact you will find plenty of shrines devoted to certain gods all over India. they also respect life and had a hard time accepting eating animals so many of them are vegetarians.

He may have misunderstood you in some way ... do not be discouraged....
be sure you do not share your faith with people until you can speak with them without any difficulty arising .... like a bad answer ... that may take some time, but just as we need to protect babies when they are young we must also protect our faith...
In fact, Indian people do believe in God and live and breathe God all day long, so please do not worry.
Peace & Love to you

Change India to 'the US' and change 'God' to 'Shiva', and you might get some idea why some people are put out.
