I am taking lessons and doing pretty good at it! I practise at home but my friens reckon I am still **** Any songs I should try to learn which isnt too hard!?

Get a Beatles tab book. Im assuming your reading TAB? If not check out www.ultimate-guitar.com
it has hundreds of thousands of songs tabbed out, and It should have a couple articles on how to read "tab" if you dont know how.
Just learn your scales and practice transitioning from chord to chord to chord to chord to chord to chord.
