Japan as an aggressive and ferocious country??? Are you nuts? It's a democratic developed nation, is tied for the world's lowest crime rate and doesn't even have a military.
Yes, the invaded Asia and attempted to set up colonies, but that wasn't unique to them. They were copying Europe. They figured if they had their own colonies, the European powers wouldn't try to colonize them. Besides, they learned from their loss in WWII.
Additionally, Japanese protest against nuclear power, do you really think they'd develop nuclear weapons? The Japanese don't want nuclear weapons and the US just reaffirmed a couple months ago that it would use it's nuclear arsonal to protect Japan if needed.

(it's obvious you're Chinese or SKorean because anyone else would laugh if you said Japan was dangerous. Plus nobody uses "she" when refering to a country anymore. "George III" isn't fooling anyone. )

Since Japan isn't going around telling the world that they are going to Blow the United States up and such... I have no problem with Japan being nuclear. Heck, they even helped us in the Iraq war. Japan is our Ally... The fact that they are so close to China and Russia - I would want them to be able to defend themselves.

They are no longer ferocious. A few years ago, when they wanted to move their naval ships out of the harbor, they asked for the US's permission to do such, as signed in WW2. That was over 50 years later after the treaty. I don't think there is anythng to fear from them

With N.Korea just across the sea of Japan, and China doing their build up, I'm cool with Japan having defense capabilities.

Better them than N.Korea or China! It would be great for someone else to be a threat to Russia.
