As a Doula I would say stay home and don't worry. It could just be her mucus plug starting to pull away from her cervix. However, if it is heavy bleeding or she doesn't feel the baby move like normal I would call the DR as he/she knows the background of your wife and has much more information about this pregnancy than two sentences on the computer.
Good luck! Congratulation!

It's called the bloody show and happens up to two weeks before labour begins.
The best thing to do is to monitor the baby's movements and stay close to home. This isn't the time to travel more than an hour away from the hospital where you intend to deliver.
Good luck, it doesn't sound like it will be long now.

No, do not take her to the hospital.. She is just losing her mucus plug. Some women lose this a couple weeks before even giving birth. So, until she actually starts having contractions she is fine. If she notices any abdominal cramping or bright red blood then consult her physician immediately.
Good luck, the time is near.

if there are no contractions and she is having some bloody show there probably is nothing they will do at the hospital. Many women start to have some show at the end. If it soaks more then one pad an hour or is BRIGHT red then you should go in IMMEDIATELY. Otherwise it's normal and nothing to worry about.

She's just having what is called a "show". This is part of the mucous plug being expelled to prepare her body for childbirth. As long as she is not bleeding (just pinkish when she wipes), and is not having contractions, she's ok. Relax, Papa!!

Sometimes after having an internal exam or intercourse there will be a slightly bloody discharge. If it is heavy or persists then see your doctor.
