There are disadvantages to everything. It all depends on how you use, or apply it. Knowledge is power.

Like anything else powerful, it should not be abused, mis-used or neglected.

For me, presently, the largest disadvantage is my lack of formal education (I have plenty of experience, just no "formal" education) and HOMEWORK, since I attend college full time.

I have been turned away from jobs for either overqulaifications, or lack of formal education. It really sucks when you know you can do something but they want a degree or a certificate to prove it. I understand why they want the degrees and "paperwork", but I also know that just because someone has a formal education, doesn't mean they can perform.

It is an endless cycle, but not having an education in todays world definitley limits your options in life. It affects many aspects, in more way than you can imagine, until you realize that you don't have one, or enough (like me).
If the opportunity is there, take it. It's worth it in the end.

Some even though the did go to school may still wish to be a farmer.

1 of the biggest disadvantages I see is that many become "Over Educated" meaning They just know they know better and more than someone with less education. At some points it tends to get in the way of judgement and making real life calls correctly.

Originally, I limited the number of children to 2 because I wanted them have money to go to college. However, for the pas 13 years my degrees haven't given me a full-time job in anything, Now my daughter asks for a sister. My grandfather did not go to college and he had 10 children and lived on a farm happily ever after.

If you are suggesting that some people should not be educated so we have people happy to do menial jobs (ie incapable of doing anything else) then I think that is quite dark.

The great thing about education is it allows you to make informed choices in your life.

Education to my opinion, involves more teaching that can be easily forgotten rather than long term learning.

When some people believe education is equivalent to superiority. When someone is book smart but lack common sense. When someone education does not lead then to worlds and people outside their own communities.

It takes too much time away from rapping, burning, robbing and murdering.

Why one could get rich if they didn't have to go to school but then, you couldn't manage your money without school either.

well depends on what you mean, for adults looking for a job or for children that are learning ?

for children that are learning, I'd say some science is
incorrect & can send kids into a belief that is NOT true !
