john b is right with the forign players scenario, but that is only the english LEAUGE.
I disagree with babyboy & kwa. Mclaen was my number1 choice for manager and he has still exceded my expectations. It is the players.
Robinson has not done well (e.g. the 'divot') if you ask me, i think he's a bit of a divot. The back 4 is always changing, and we need a solid back 4 that we can ALWAYS rely on, like brazils. The midfield are quite good, except we only have an OK right winger. Beckham is past it, Richardson, SWP and Lennon are too young (Lennon is Good, but will get better in the future) and Gerrard is maybe gonna go in there, but hes s'posed in the centre. Talking about Gerrard, Himand Lampard cant play well together. We need some natural left footed players, Like Stu downing. He can play, but again, he's only 19. The forwards are rubbish. We only have 1 good forward, and thats Wayne. Crouch can't score from 2 yards out, Bent is not good enough for international standard YET, and Andy Johnsons out injured.
I was watching the spain-England game, and I picked up on a few of these. English football will be good in 5, maybe 10 years, because of youth players coming in.
I reckon El Tels doing a good job too, so don't go blaming the staff!

Too many foreign players in the Premiership, to the detriment of home grown players.

the commercialisation of football. too many players will play with passion for their clubs but you can't say the same at the international levels. obviously their heart is where the money and glory is.
