I am interested in finding the reasons as to why women drink, is it relationship traumas, to unwind after work, just coz its the weekend etc, or celebrations?

I no longer drink but I can tell you from personal experiances why I drank and/or got drunk. It's a numbing agent..makes you relax, makes you more social, etc. Alot of women who drink, drink to numb feelings of rejection, abuse, trama, etc. And men drink for these reasons also, but testosterone plays a big role in why men drink excessively.

I don't drink, it tastes horrible and makes me feel like crap. I have never seen the appeal.
I hate to see girls staggering around drunk, its really unladylike and yeah call me old fashioned but being a lady is still important. Men much prefer ladies to chavettes.
Having a few quiet glasses of wine or something with your friends after work is fine but I will never understand why some girls go out just to get wasted. Its nasty.

why do men drink? i think women drink for all sorts of reasons, i myself enjoy a glass or 3 of wine with my partner at the weekend, we both work hard all week and enjoy a drink at the weekend just catching up with the weeks news,

Did you really want to say "WHY DO WOMEN GET DRUNK"?
One can also drink without getting drunk, you know. I don't see a problem with having a glass of wine with dinner, or having a couple of drinks in a bar.

i dont drink im tea total, the only time i will have a drink is if im out to celebrate something and thats only for a toast. i dont enjoy the taste of alcohol and would rather drink soft drinks, i also dont enjoy feeling dehydrated the next day coupled with the fact alcohol is laden with extra calories. i make fun, i dont need alcohol to have a good time! i cant stand to see women drunk they look trampy and undignified! xxx

I very rarely drink but if i do its always a social drink when im with partner i may have a glass of wine or if im out celebrating something i will drink then.

I would imagine the answers would be as varied as the people who drink. There are many reasons why people enjoy or sometimes abuse adult beverage;. sensory pleasure such as taste, social acceptance, desire for intoxication, addiction etc. Alcoholic beverages have exsisted for as long as people have grown and harvested fruits and grains.

old women drink to feel young and to make the world go away
there is many good reasons for drinking!
and one has just entered my head.
if you can't drink when you are living
how are you gonna drink when you are dead.
