Political correctness is way out of proportion. The fact that we can't say things just because they have some relation to a minority is the most silliest thing I've ever seen in my entire life.

What I think is the cause of this is - people start feeling sorry for themselves and want other people's sympathy. Instead of working hard to become respected - they use their minority status to get sympathy and free money. Instead of learning hard at a college they accept handouts and jobs that "have" to accept minorities.

Political correctness is just another word for minority groups who want to control us and dictate our lives. We, feeling sorry for them, give in to their demands and do what they ask.

The fact that the minorities get all offended whenever there is a "black jack" or what not is the most pathetic thing I've ever seen in my life. If that is the case - they should also be upset about the "white house" and other white things - but they aren't! This just proves to me that they are actually being racist towards the majority groups.

It is all very complicated but I think that people need to toughen up and work hard to get respect by going to college, getting a job, instead of sulking in their minority group and demanding respect. Stop being offended because people do not dictate who you are - especially if you live in America.

Good question! Although, I can see why some words ARE offensive to certain races. But it goes both ways. I don't like to hear white people being called honkeys or crackers and when I hear it, I call whoever said it out. I also take care in not using words that are offensive to others. I teach my children not to use certain words, yet they hear it on certain songs. Then I have to come up with an explanation of why its okay for one person to say it and not someone else. My kids get confused! As am I. It has gone to far! If a word is obviously offensive it should not be used by anyone. I always thought telling someone they were articulate was a compliment. Especially, if the person saying it has trouble in this area. lol. But really, its getting to a point where white people are afraid to say anything, and communication is harder than ever.

It is made more pathetic by all of us who give credence to the morons who have set themselves up as thought police. It is about time that the silent majority were not quite so silent. Many terms and expressions in common use are (deliberately) misrepresented because the word or phrase contains so-called offensive references, like chairman, or black coffee. In reality the former refers to mankind the species, and the latter is simply an adjective. There are genuinely offensive references to colour, or race, which are legitimately banned, and if used maybe the subject of litigation. Otherwise these people should stop debasing the English language.

It is Politcally Incorrect to: Call a Black Man Articulate

It is Politically Incorrect to: Question that man evolved from Apes (Though liberals are the leading argument for this theory)

It is Politcally Incorrect to: Say that Homosexuality is a choice an individual made?

It is Politcally incorrect to: Say Merry Christmas!

It is Politcally correct to: Call a grade schoolers parents Liars by teaching evolution as fact!

It is Politically Correct to: Stir up hatred against of group of people because they have more money than others.

It's ridiculous and it will never stop unfortunately.

I think political correctness has become COMPLETELY out of control. How can you be "African American" if you've never even been to Africa? Blacks are blacks, whites are whites, oritentals are orientals, and that's that!

On a similar note, I'm sick of the double standards in this country. Why is it okay to make movies about black people making fun of white people? Why do black comedians get to poke fun at "skinny white girls" or "white people always be doing this" and "white people always be doing that". Can you imagine if a white comedian did a 30 minute stand up routine about the follies of the black race????

Bottom line is that we're ALL Americans. No reason to have "latin grammy awards" or the "miss black America" if equality is what we all TRULY want. And I am tired of the majority in this country having to change they way they've been doing things for over a hundred years just to satisfy a precious few who suddenly got a big bug up their butts. So Merry Christmas!

Yes, political correctness has gone amuck. I find it very troubling, and I think everyone should be concerned about it. We are being conditioned and it is scary. Political Correctness is designed to control us and take our freedom of speech away. Now, they are policing our speech, so what's next? The Thought Police? You better believe it. If this insanity continues, we will eventually live in a society where no one is free, and everyone is ignorant. We will all be like mindless, compliant robots walking around everywhere.

Handicapped parking places offend me. I'm normal, shouldn't normal people be up front? Why is there more jail time involved with animal cruelty than spouse abuse? Why are retarted people guaranteed jobs and normal people have to search? Why is the government hounding all sex offenders when only 3.5% actually reoffend? Why aren't white people called "European Americans?" Is ADD real or just a failed school system blaming the kids for not learning?

The world makes no sense at all.

This question has been asked so many times before that it is impossible to think of anything new to say. It is the people who promote it that are quite mad, or should I say, left wing totalitarian control freaks. PC practises are simply the evidence of this.
