I have 2 balas and 6 Barbs And a Kissing gourami. Well i got him yesterday and he is still lying on the floor in the back of the tank. He moves I can see him. But He just sits there. What might it be? And, will it go away?

You may need another Gourami, I'm thinking you are speaking of a pink kissing Gourami, it probably needs some company.Gourami's don't really kiss ,it just appears that way because of the way lips protrude when they breathe, but they do seem to do better in pairs.One other reason may be he is shocked by the change in PH in the water and needs time to acclimate

Water quality. What kind of tests do you use on the water? Kissing gourami's are loners, DON'T try to put more than one in a tank. For this stocking amount, you will need 125 gallons eventually. I hope you have at least 55 gallons now so the water quality is ok. Barbs are notorious fin pickers, they may harass the gourami.

gouramis are territorial. if your tank has no decorations he can call territory then he will be kind of weird. Get him a fairly large plant (fake is fine) that goes up to the water surface. they like high up better because they breathe on top of the water like a betta.

Could be shock from changing tanks, cooler water, than he's used to, any matter of things........
