Hi all, got some sea monkeys, set the tank up about 5 hours ago and added the water purifier and used bottled drinking water (not tap). Do you think it would be ok to add the sea monkeys now or should i wait 24 hours. Thanks :-)

Hi Emma,

I remember having sea monkeys a few years back they were so fun, but dont last long.

-Did they come with an instruction manual, if so i think its best sticking to the instructions on that as they are very sensitive and if it goes wrong they probably wont last long. I cant remember exactly what i did but im sdure i waited the 24 hour period.

Good Luck, hope they last longer than my ones did!

A re your sea monkeys "marine tropical fish" if you put water purifier in...that's ok but after you put bottled drinking water in you should add MARINE SALT unless they were bred in fresh water. It would be a good idea to got to the shop where you got them for tips. I would like to know more about your sea monkeys.

Don't worry about your sea monkeys eating the smaller ones. They won't. They can only feed on very tiny items of food such as infusoria & small planktonic organisms. I have found yeast to be a good food.

You completely forgot about adding salt-they are SEA monkeys, remember. And PLEASE don't add table salt-use sea salt. If you get tired of them then throw them to some fish.

sea monkeys = brine shrimp...be sure you use the proper amount of salt, and dont put anything else in there with them, or itll be a giant buffet...
