Start with the Nigerian Embassy in your country - you've got no chance of finding the right person in a remote government without help.

Contact the British Embassy in Nigeria they should be able to help. I take it your boyfriend was working for a company in Nigeria and of so they should be able to facilitate the extraction and repatriation to UK they would also be responsable for his safety and well being whilst in country. Is there an agent in country that you know such as Wasco or Petrasco that he went in by. Someone had to sponsor his visa and they should assist. If he was travelling to Nigeria on business did he have SOS or similar cover? If so they could be contacted and can also facilitate extraction if that is what's required. Is your man being treated for an illness such as Malaria? If so the Nigerian hospital will probably treat him better than they would here in UK.
More details would be required to advise further.

wait for the Doctors to discharge him. Why would you want him out of hospital if the doctors haven't said to him to go home?

Better still, get a new healthy boyfriend (perhaps?)
