Click on OPTIONS in the upper right corner of your mail page. Then you will see a purple link in the upper right corner that you can click on to switch to Beta.

The only way I have to say is when you have trouble logging in to Y! Mail Beta, click Trouble Logging In? and several options will expand from there. Clicking on the fourth option that will allow you to check your mail in the original version temproarily; the fifth one, if clikced on, will opt you out of Y! Mail Beta and back to the original version. If I were you, I would skip opting out of Beta and choosing the fourth option to check your mail. Hopefully, you may not have to put up with that glitch again each time you login to Y! Mail Beta.
