My laptop is going to be reverted to factory state after a repair. Will I be able to reinstall my system with these discs or do I have to buy another type?

Yes you can. You can use them as data discs. It will take a few of them though. If I am not mistaking, each one can hold 700MB.

Use a program like Nero Backitup. If your hard drive has 50 GB of data on it, plan to use about 75 Cd's, or about 13 DVDs.This will also be VERY time consuming.
I would simply back up your important files and documents and go along with reformat. It is good to clean out your system files every now and then to increase computer performance.

Depending on the size of your hard drive and what you are going to back up, it will take a lot of them, as the previous answer was correct: they only hold 700 Mb each.

Sure you can. I use cd/rw's though so I don't have so many cds lying around.
