On Oct. 19, 2006, Urban checked himself into the Betty Ford Clinic in California. On Oct. 20, Urban issued a statement saying: "I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones who love and support me. One can never let one's guard down on recovery, and I'm afraid that I have." Kidman visited Urban at the clinic on November 12, and in early December the couple were together for lunch at the Polo Lounge in Los Angeles, while Urban got a short release from rehab. On Dec. 16, Kidman and her children flew to Sydney to spend Christmas with her family, while Urban remained in the United States for rehab. Urban flew to Sydney and met up with Kidman on December 26, but returned to the Betty Ford Clinic shortly thereafter. On Jan. 18, 2007, Urban announced his completion of rehab and his plans to go on tour to promote his new album, Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing..

yes. he wanted to quit drinking so made a great choice and went into rehab.

Yes....for Alcochol and drug abuse....Hopefully he is on the road to recovery. He is currently touring again with Nicole to watch that he doesnt fall off the wagon and go back into those abuses..
