Why does let down hurt for some women?

It does get better as you keep nursing. I remember those first few weeks of breastfeeding. But, as your body gets used to it, it doesn't hurt at all!

Honestly. I was a baby about the whole thing...I annoyed my doctor so much ;-P But, he really did deserve it...he almost missed my delivery that was his payback...hehehehe.

Especially in the early weeks and months when you get very full let down can be painful, I used to find also after work I would have a painful let down as she fed

suggir is right, after a few weeks or even months in my case I barely feel let down. I personally think its all the extra milk that makes it hurt, your milk supply has to level down to what your baby needs.

is it the engorged feeling your talking about? 'cause that is horrible. when your milk ducts fill up it hurts everyone who breastfeeds but in a a few days it will go away. congrats on your baby!
