Company checks are typically printed on paper specifically made for checks. The paper, also known as security paper, has imbedded security features like dark lines that void the check if someone tries to photocopy it, watermarks and other anti-counterfieting marks. These are to keep strangers from forging checks and employees/vendors from altering real checks.
Technically, a company check is a demand note that can be printed on plain paper, toilet paper and the used stub of a Grateful Dead concert ticket to be a legally good check. However, since it is a demand note, the bank does usually have some guidelines on what demand notes it will accept. However, I digress...
The answer: security paper.

Unless some military or government security check, they only check the state you are in. My state only reports felonies for 6 years. Why should we hire someone who was once a criminal? You had no problem with hiring Bush!!!!
