This depends on what you are singing. It must first be noted that rock band singing in pretty much any form is highly destructive to the voice. That means that if you start singing rock band vocals, you usually can't go to singing pop or choral type music after a certain amount of time because of the destruction to the vocal cords. I know a wonderful 16 year old tenor (high voice) who has already lost a lot of his high range vocal quality from singing for a high school rock band. This destruction is often worse on basses because they have to use more out of their range muscle. Now, I've heard quite a few bases singing rock vocals, and typically heavy metal singers do have bass voices to get the kind of booming sound that you hear on heavy albums (a stereotypical example would be Rage Against the Machine). This same theory also most obviously applies to country music. The same does not go for classic rock. Most classic rock singers are tenors or high voices with expansive falsetto to accommodate what they are singing (check out Axl Rose). Alternative singers are almost always tenors as well, because tenors tend to have the pretty-type tone that alternative and punk call for (Bono-U2). Much is dependent on the band's genre and the attitude and ability of the vocalist. No vocalist in any genre is good without a good sense of pitch (yes even screaming metal heads need to be in key). Many rock songs don't require much range and could be sung by almost any vocalist. Finally you have to ask, what would the Guns be without Axl's attitude?

i understand precisely what you propose relating to the spectacular thing approximately twin vocalists. no longer purely does it make the song interesting and dynamic even yet it emphasizes the melodies fantastically (assuming the two vocalists are wisely gifted of direction). And it makes the stay overall performance much greater effective too, to be certain 2 dudes rocking it with a mic and bouncing off one yet another. My known band that does that's The Blackout. I surprisingly advise them and here songs in specific: it incredibly is severe Tide infant! Silent (while we communicate) toddlers Of The nighttime suggested And accomplished practice For A Wound keep Ourselves (The warning) i've got have been given greater effective issues to try this nighttime Than Die miraculous Of the international in fact any Blackout song is staggering, in case you are able to shield somewhat shouting. different proper bands with diverse vocalists that i can think of of: Alexisonfire Fightstar Blink 182
