For control. We create panic, fear with a self-inflicted wound (ex. 9/11) blame it on a country in which we already had soldier build up going on months in advance, blame them. Attack. Flying terrorist leaders safely out of the country, and charge Iraq(who hate the Al-Quada as much as we do) w/ training them and having WMD and blowing the fcuk out of them and after that. Be nice and say, "we'll rebuild you into our way of government so that you can be at peace." Hard to play nice when you've killed over a half million of their people and expect them not to be pissed off at us. Now we're getting more American deaths and no resulution to the beginning problem.

It's purely war machine propeganda, and everyone is believing what the President says, so we're off now to invade a country that can't go nuclear weapons wise till 2015. Praying that we can pull off another Gulf of Tonkin on it to get it rolling.

The US Government does what it does because it can, domestically and internationally speaking.

Internationally, we are the most militarily powerful country in the world, there is no denying that. Domestically, most Americans do not do nearly enough research to know what America is doing and has historically done.

I would caution many critics here of the US to be fair that the US isnt the bogeyman many are making it out to be, but I would admonish many here who do not know what the question author is talking about and defend America regardless of situation and knowledge thereof to do more research.

Iraq was America's ally right up until the invasion of Kuwait. We supported Saddam's use of chemical weapons against Iran and against the Kurds and Shiites in his own country and we supported Iraq against Iran in the Iran-Iraq war in general.

The invasion of Kuwait was precipitated diplomatically by a misunderstanding between the Iraqi government and the US Ambassador to Iraq at the time. In very couched terms, Iraq basically asked us if it would be OK if they invaded Kuwait. Our ambassador clearly did not understand the question and answered in the affirmative.

The thing to remember about this is that Saddam thought enough about America and his relationship with America right up until 1992 that he asked our permission before he did pretty much everything.

France and Germany have both been our allies since the end of the second world war. We may not have attacked them militarily for disagreeing with going to war against Iraq in 2003, but we certainly were hostile towards them. As if other countries do not have the right to disagree with us.

can you cite an example of America attacking its Allies? Is this in form of war, or hurt feelings? So what if every country doesn't agree with this war, they are more than welcome to stay out of it.

America can afford to disobey the rules but I don't think we have to judge them like that. Because one man fault or two, we can't blame entire nation ;and I'm not talking about soldiers , I'm talking about the leaders who have the power.

The real question should be why do America's liberals attack their own country constantly?

America has NOT attacked any of it's allies. Where are you getting your erroneous information?

Taking this just a tad over the top aren't you? Your ignorance is only exceeded by your lack of compassion for what these soldiers have to face for the rest of their lives. This is not a joke.
