A degree and military service are both looked on highly by many employers.

A history degree will help with general knowledge and debate (I think it's a great pre-law choice). It isn't a written requirement for many jobs (except teaching history).

But it will make you a more interesting person. Your research skills will improve. And history is a basic foundation for many other subjects.

History grads are news magazine show hosts, police chiefs, authors, business men, lawyers, managers and all sorts of other good things.

If you ask history grads, they probably never saw history degree as a job requirement (although sometimes it may have said "liberal arts" or "humanities" or just a general degree requirement), but they'll tell you that it has helped them gain the skills to get where they are.

I think it's a great move, and good luck to you.

It pretty much depends on what you want to do. Businesses like to hire people with history degrees because they can write, which science programs don't teach. The National Park Service has a host of jobs that you would qualify for, and military service will give you a leg up in the hiring process. While there are some museums (the smaller ones) that will hire people with bachelors degrees, it really takes a masters degree to enter that field. With a masters you can work for a cultural resource management firm (this is what I do) actually doing historical research and writing. You could also work in a library or archive, depending on the field in which you do your masters degree.

i would not say which you will have not any hassle looking a job with a level in employer. employer majors are a dime a dozen, and you will have the comparable subject getting a job with a employer degree as with a historic previous or English degree in case you do not have the adventure, characteristics and talents an business enterprise needs. And it incredibly is probable no longer a good option to significant in something that bores you. A bachelors degree in very nearly any problem isn't a waste, however the fewer quickly your degree prepares you for a particular job, the greater you're able to coach your self one after the different by using studying careers and improve your CV on the part. particularly some jobs merely desire to be certain any degree, yet they'll desire to be certain appropriate adventure besides, so as which you will could desire to get jobs or internships in industries that activity you. you will additionally desire to be waiting to particular what you receive out of your degree that might actually assist you on your job. the quicker you are able to decide what form of job you eventually want and what's had to get it, the greater effective arranged you would be once you graduate.

Teach history- we could use some good teachers with a military background to keep the kids in line.
Could teach college if you don't care for the drama of school life.
Good luck, I hope you find the right job.
