It has happened a couple of times, this morning it started then cut out as i pressed the accelorater. Then it will not start at all. I have changed the battery as i was told it might be a faulty cell.
If I bump start it it goes perfectly and then will start after letting the engine run for a few mins.
Thanks

Sounds like a fuel problem. The engine only requires a little fuel to idle, however when accelerating it requires much more causing it to cut out because it's starved for fuel. possible culprits: Fuel filter- the cheapest solution if it fixes the problem. Or it could be the fuel pump (mechanical or electric I'm not sure).

You have answered your own question partially. LET IT WARM UP before you drive it. Also get the battery check, but that has nothing to do with it cutting off. After the car starts the Generator runs it. Start the car, let it warm up, and THEN while it is running, (be careful if you do not know what you are doing) take the positive cable OFF the Battery, and IF the car STILL runs the generator in good, so you can rule that out. All the Battery does is START the car, and the Generator CHARGES the Battery while the car is running. Also the Fuel Filter and Choke needs looked at too.

Carb or choke problem. Are you letting it warm up BEFORE pressing on the gas? (which releases the choke)
