SUPPORTED THEM?

What do you call these troops, William Arkin?

Not "mercenaries."

Not "arrogant and intolerant."

The word is "patriots."

Patriots.

In our house, we thank God for them every night.

I've often heard from Conservatives that it's impossible to oppose the Iraq War and simultaneously support our troops.

Well, not only is this absurd, it's the exact opposite of what the Republican Congress was doing. Congress is supporting the war but not the troops. They have done this by not providing adequate body armor for the troops, not providing armored humvess, and by rushing into war without a plan to win the peace.

But by far, the biggest injustice done to our returning men and women in uniform by this Republican Congress is a total lack of adequate healthcare services to injured and disabled vets and their families.

A perfect example of how someone can oppose this ridiculous war but support our troops is Don Imus. The Bush Adminstration has so poorly provided for returning disabled vets, volunteers and private citizens have had to raise money on their own to help them. The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is one of those organizations and Don Imus has made promoting the fund a regular feature on his morning radio program. Imus himself, a very outspoke critic of the Iraq War, has donated $250,000 to the fund and helped raise hundreds of thousands more through his radio program. who really supports them liberals who want them to come home or cons who wan to keep them there forever.

I seriously hope that's not the view of many out there. We're NOT mercs. We are doing our utmost to serve our country and the thought that we are being bashed for doing it hurts.

It's bad enough that our accomplishments are being ignored by the media.

EDIT:

I have more body armor than I could possibly walk around in. The LAST thing I need is MORE body armor. I have the latest M114 series HUMVEES with all the sniper mitigation equipment and Counter IED equipment. That's not an issue, at all.

He's voicing what many liberals in the US really think.

They'd love another chance to spit on our returning service members like they did 30 years ago.

Can you believe he was in the military himself?

Just another liberal malcontent who gets the talking points confused if they post too many of them.
