I say LISTENING skills is waaay more important. And one of em having the ability to ask ALOT of questions about the other.

Social skills are important as a starter. Social skills is tiny element in the personality of an individual. Manipulators are very articulate but very self centered. Some people are slow warm ups and they are just beautiful if you take the time to know them.

Social skills are the abilities needed to relate to others that are part of your own society. Simple things like a handshake are social skills, through which people will get information about who you are. At the least, a handshake means "I pose no threat to you". In the long run, a friend will learn to cope with your ups and downs, but at the beginning they can only recognize attitudes that are already recognizable to them. So yes, you need those signs in order to get close to someone you don't know.

I don’t agree, as the generalized use of the word friends is the problem. A friend for me is someone you have a deep and profound connection with, you don’t have to have the best social skills or be very social to have a friend. If you consider friends to mean plenty of casual acquaintances then yes, you have to be very social.

This can be true on the basis that everybody is born with his own social skills,the first glance of a new born infant shows its social skills that would attract anybody who will agree.

They sure do help. If social skills are lacking it makes it kind of hard for people to get to know you.

The bible says be slow to speak quick to listen and apt to teach etc. Let words be worth while. Sometimes I think people just talk because they cannot withstand the noise that is within their heads. Silence is golden, its leave people wondering about you. If someone wants to make friends, they will talk to you, and if me personally wanted to make friends, I will talk to them.

very very very important to have social skills.you have to be able to communicate with the people around you.if you can`t i don`t know what will happen but it is not a good thing
