One by one - it's much better to focus your attention on a single person than on a group of people.

when i go to help someone, i normally will do it one on one, that way if the person does not understand, i can give guidance as needed, now if it is a general subject, and easy to learn, i would help people in a group of about 5 or so, any more than that, decreases the effectiveness of the teaching, in my opinion.

Both, but I prefer one on one.

Whether financially, emotionally, spiritually or scholarly, Individual attention can be more productive, not to mention that you know exactly how your help is being used.
