Spain is like a numberof small coutries stuck together. Each region has its distinct culture, festivals, music and ideas. I can´t give you a run down on all of them but for MAdrid I would suggest the following:

It is a large and varied country split up into autonomous regions which although governed from Madrid also have a fair amount of independence. The climate and soil varies quite alot from region to region and they grow many different crops as a result. These include, olives, grapes, oranges, lemons, almonds, tomatos, peppers, potatoes, asparagus and cork from the cork oak forests.

One of their major sources of income is tourism.

Generally speaking they are a friendly, welcoming people, very family oriented.

Try searching on google or look at the lonely planet website which will give you a guide to spain.

catalunya-tomatoes (they use it in everything)

agriculture is sadly on a downward spiral as young people dont want to stay in the villages and move to bigger cities to study or work so the demand for immagrants to work the land is high.
