My mother was on a health food kick in the 70's. She had this vegetarian recipe for something called millet (bird seed) casserole. It was the most disgusting thing we had ever eaten. Even the birds wouldn't touch it when we put it outside. Worst part, she thought she made a mistake when making it, so a few weeks later, she tried again.

I had a friend from the Phillapeans...her mom use to make this stuff called chocolate meat(probably not the real name of this dish)...but it was not chocolate, just looked like it! I finally got the nerve to taste it only to find it tasted liked LIVER...it was tripe and a blood sauce...I kid you not!!! Gross.
