I had my tubes tied in August of this year. Is it possible to have conceived? I know that as time goes by, the chances of doing so increases, but I though that this form of conception was 99.9% effective the first 5 years. I have three children already, so I know what "my" morning sickness feels like. I'm wondering if I should buy a pregnancy test just to see.

Although pregnancy is unlikely, there is a slightly higher risk of ectopic pregnancy after a tubal ligation. An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg attaches and grows outside the uterus. This can be very dangerous and requires immediate medical attention.
Some women report having post-tubal sterilization syndrome. The symptoms include irregular and painful periods, mid-cycle bleeding, or no periods.

You can, and if you do, you need to seek medical help as soon as possible. The likelihood of a fertilized egg implanting itself in your fallopian tube and not your uterus is greatly increased after a tubal ligation and an ectopic pregnancy is extremely dangerous and painful-untreated, it could cause your fallopian tube to rupture and you could die. If you're concerned that you have conceived, I would definitely take a test as soon as possible.

Yes you should buy a test only because you could have tubal pregnancy. If thats the case you will need to see your doctor.

Highly unlikely...but possible if you had them clamped off instead of cut and cauterized. It's possible the clamp may have come off. Take a test ....and talk to your doctor either way to find out
which type of tubal ligation you had done.

i think they usually just cut and sew you...the chances are SLIM you can get pregnant, its like 1%. I had mine done a week ago, and they said its highly unlikely to get pregnant with this permanent sterilization. Take one just to be sure, but chances are, you aren't.
