With famous coaches like Lou Holtz and Steve Spurrier taking the helm and the number 4 recruiting class this year, shouldn't the "other" USC be poised for a move onto the national scene?

It will be a power in due time. It takes more than 3 years to rebuild a program. South Carolina is making headway however they play in the SEC a football powerhouse. They have to recruit against LSU, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas. All these teams are in the SEC. Add Notre Dame, USC, FSU, UNC, Miami, Texas and you find it hard to recruit.

No they won't, this is due to their conference play. Every year they play UF, UGA, and Tenn with rotating SEC West opponents like LSU, Ark, and Auburn.

I think Spurrier has maxed out their potential. Besides it hard to recruit a kid to play in South Carolina because of its location and lack of a winning tradition.

No, not on a par with the likes of Ohio State, Texas, and Southern Cal.

They'll be competitive, but they don't "Pay" enough to get the high "priced" urgggh High profile talent.
