What an interesting match. Let me just say that any sign can be a good match for any sign. The stars do not discriminate. Because I am not sure if the Cancer is a male or female, it makes it a little more difficult because Cancerian Males, though the same, are different from females.
Cancer is ruled by the moon, the planet of Intuition and Emotion. Libra's are ruled by Venus the planet of Love, Truth and Balance. Here you have a favorable match in the sense of love. Cancer's need for emotional security and Libra's tender loving care are intense. It will be hard for Cancer to keep emotions back once Libra has gained your trust. Cancer will admire the Libran need for truth and balance. This only helps the Cancer expand horizons and learn to open their shell. Libra can bring a calming and relaxing effect to Cancer, which only helps since they tend to worry a lot.
The problem is that because Cancer is ruled by the moon and can be very moody. This can be a problem for Libra, since they do not have the patience or concentration to deal with the depth of emotions Cancer can go through. Since Libra has a short attention span, it will be hard for the Cancer to learn to let the Libra have their space. Libra's are exactly like their element of Air. This can cause problems because Cancer, like the crab, uses their defense mechanism - emotional manipulation to get what they what (the claws). Therefore the Cancer would hurt Libra's feelings...which may not easily be fixed. However, the Libra tendency to forgive and forget easily can help.
Thinking about this relationship, I think that if Cancer can learn that Libra has good intentions, they just have no attention span. If Libra can learn that like the changes in the tides, Cancer's mood changes and they often don't mean what they say. They are just so used to their shell that they often use it as a security blanket. If you can express these things and keep open lines of communication...you can go as far as you want!

With Cancers and Libras, the relationship would not last I'm afraid. I once went out with a Libra and she was never serious with me. Heck, she couldn't make up her mind of what she wants.

both are bit indecisive or at least take time in making decisions....both like to lead indirectly( they are both cardinal signs)..so one day they will just clash with each other...both are very good talkers and stubborn . Libra would always try to convince cancer with their opinions and cancers don't like to be pushed.
