There is a website that i love and i'm dying to buy from but they only accept moneygram and western union.
I am in the uk and have never heard of these payment methods before -- if anyone can help it would be much appreciated

Odd that they would only accept such methods of payment - sounds a little shady - once you send the money, you have no recourse to recover it if you do not receive what you paid for. That said, see the website for Western Union UK below.

I'm not sure about Moneygram, but I've used Western Union several times to send money overseas. It's a reliable method, and the company is legitimate. But, it's very expensive. Reckon on about 20% charge. From memory it's about £12 in charges to send £50 in money.

100% SCAM NOBODY but a scammer would ever ask for Western Union or Moneygram. Every single WU and MG office warns you to NEVER use Western Union to pay for any purchases and NEVER send money to anyone you don't personally know There is no dog - there is a scammer who wants you to send the money knowing there is NO way to ever get your money back. This is one of the biggest scams out there You do know that it costs at least $800 to ship a dog across the country, no matter what the scammer is trying to tell you And you don't ship a puppy in winter across the country unless you want it to freeze to death. That's the cruelest thing anyone could do Want to prove it's a scam - write back to say that you don't want to ship the dog so you got yourself a cheap flight and are going to come this weekend to pick up the puppy yourself then bring it back as hand luggage. Ask for their address. OR say that your mom has a friend who only lives a few miles from where they are who is actually coming home for Xmas so they are going to pick up the puppy for you then bring it in 2 weeks when they come for Xmas. Then see how quickly this puppy disappears

Likewise, never heard of the other one, but I have used Western Union and they were Ok.
Some local shops do WU, but you will find that Money Shop, or other such places that change cheques will do money transfers.
As mentioned, the rates could be a bit high - not as high as a previous correspondent says - but you get a receipt and guarantee - which is more than Royal Mail can say.
